Resort season is like a ray of sunshine during our bleak New York City winters. The shops suddenly brighten with breezy whites and straw totes and we’re reminded to get the hell out out of here and plan a vacation. STAT! Ann Taylor just unveiled their 2015 Resort collection and asked me share my travel style tips for their campaign, which also featured Rachel Schwartzmann of the The Style Line, and illustrations from the talented Megan Morrison of Travel Write Draw.
Here’s a snippet from the interview and you can read the full post here.
What’s one of your favorite trips in recent memory? I just learned to ski in the French Alps.
Why was it awesome? Fondue at 7500 feet and this view.
Are you a fan of the cliché “Life is a journey, not a destination”? I often say that I don’t travel to get it out of my system, but that travel is my system. It’s a way of life, not just a career or hobby. Being a traveler has taught me how to be here now, wherever “here” may be. I don’t particularly care about checking destinations off of some master list. But I try to make sure I am completely present in every moment of my travels. That’s when the magic happens.
Tell us about your travel style. I like style that can easily go from the airport to the TV set. This silky boyfriend shirt is a perfect example. Tucked in to this chambray skirt, it works perfectly for television, but worn loose and oversized is how I’d probably wear it traveling.
