I finally got around to sorting this summer’s Asia photos, which triggered some fantastic memories. It’s strange how drastically my life is changing. Asia seems like a dream as I sit in suburban Long Island awaiting droves of hungry trick-or-treaters. It’s hard to believe that only two months ago I was scaling Angkor’s temples like Indiana Jones and carelessly dancing barefoot amidst the flaming shores of Ko Phangan.
I’m uncharacteristically content as a homebody at the moment, knowing that I have another six months of adventure on the horizon. I’m taking full advantage of the comforts of home, as I think any backpacker would, one of which is my Mom’s homemade chicken soup. It’s just the perfect blend of veggie flavors, tender chicken and pearls of Acini di Pepe pasta. A far cry from the spicy Tom Yum thai soup that sent uncontrollable beads of sweat down my face. Yummy!
Ah, I hear the doorbell. Trick-or-Treat!
