I haven’t worked in a conventional office since 2007. Could I ever go back? It’s doubtful. I am infinitely more productive with the world as my office than I ever was in a cubicle. And way more inspired. In part two of my Look Both Ways feature for Ann Taylor I styled an “office” look in my apartment and at one of my favorite local coffee shops, AP Cafe in Bushwick. Bushwick has been home since 2009 and this new-ish minimalist cafe is one of the most gorgeous spaces in the hood. Everything about it makes you feel good. The clean lines, the bright light, the La Colombe coffee…and the buttery croissants. Click here to check out the other half of my Ann Taylor look in Belgrade.
If you have a favorite work space around the world, I’d love to hear about it!

Where’s the bag from lady? It’s gorgeous.
I wish I had a better answer — my brother-in-law got it for me from an artisan’s shop in Milan. I will ask him for the deets!
Look at those cuties! This shoot is adorable!!! And I could not agree more — I’ve been my own boss and worked from home for so long I don’t know if I could ever do anything different. I can’t get away with working from a coffee shop every day, but when I do it’s a real treat — an excuse to actually dress up (otherwise sometimes the entire day goes by in pjs) and people watch. My favorite work-all-day cafes in the world are KB (kooka bura) near Montmartre in the 9eme, or Le Coutume in the 7eme. Here in San Francisco Reveille Cafe in the Castro has delicious bites and a great vibe for getting some work done.

SO TRUE! Next time I’m in SF we should have a working sesh at Reveille Cafe…in our PJs? 😉
